HUDSON TECHNOLOGIES’ LAB BECOMES
ONE OF ONLY THREE
ARI CERTIFIED REFRIGERANT TESTING LABS
Certification
Validates Hudson’s Quality Control and Analytical Expertise
Pearl River, New
York – February 7, 2006 -- Hudson Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: HDSN), a
leading refrigerant services company specializing in proprietary
on-site decontamination services for large comfort and industrial
process cooling and refrigeration systems, today announced that its
refrigerant testing lab, located in Champaign, Illinois, has been
certified by the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute ("ARI")
under ARI's Refrigerant Testing Laboratory Certification Program.
The ARI certification signifies that
Hudson has demonstrated its ability to accurately perform ARI 700
refrigerant testing in accordance with procedures required under the
ARI 700 standard. The ARI 700 standard establishes purity,
composition and testing specifications for new or reclaimed
refrigerants. Originally a voluntary industry standard developed by
the ARI, the EPA has codified the 700 standard and now requires
reclaimed refrigerants to meet the ARI 700-1995 standard before they
can be sold or resold.
“We are pleased to have successfully completed the rigorous
certification process, becoming one of only three companies in the
United States to have an ARI Certified Refrigerant Testing Lab,”
said Kevin Zugibe, Chairman and CEO, Hudson Technologies. “The
certification demonstrates that we have a high level of quality
control and analytical expertise and should help to grow revenues
from providing refrigerant testing services to customers within our
industry.”
Hudson
anticipates that ARI certification will also benefit the company’s
ChillSMART™ program, which incorporates refrigerant sample analysis,
currently performed by Hudson’s lab to identify energy
inefficiencies and potential problems for remediation in a
chiller/refrigeration system.
“Hudson’s
customers now have the added assurance that our lab's ability to
perform accurate refrigerant analyses has been independently
certified by the very organization that established the industry
accepted standard for refrigerant purity,” said Mr. Zugibe. “As we
continue to introduce predictive and preventative maintenance
services to our existing and potential client base, the ARI
certification confirms the quality and expertise of our lab, which
is critical to the science that
Hudson
uses to identify inefficiencies in a cooling system. With insight
gained from advanced chemical analysis,
Hudson’s
ChillSMART™ services can impact
the bottom line
as they help assure chillers are functioning at peak efficiencies,
significantly reducing energy costs, reducing critical maintenance
incidents and helping prolong the useful
life of the cooling system.”
About ARI
ARI is a national trade association representing manufacturers of
more than 90 percent of North American produced central
air-conditioning and commercial refrigeration equipment. Over the
past 45 years, ARI has emerged as the major voice for the air
conditioning and refrigeration industry. As one of its most
important functions, ARI develops and publishes technical standards
for industry products and establishes rating criteria and procedures
for measuring and certifying product performance. Many ARI standards
are accepted as American National Standards.
About ChillSMART™
Hudson
has developed ChillSMART™, a predictive and preventative maintenance
services program that evaluates the health of a cooling system with
in-depth analysis of the system’s chemical and mechanical
components. Through the use of proprietary computer models and
detailed engineering, Hudson provides system specific
recommendations to reduce energy costs, increase the system’s
efficiency and correct problems that if left untreated can lead to
catastrophic system failure.
About Hudson
Hudson is
a leading provider of innovative solutions to recurring problems
within the refrigeration industry. Hudson’s proprietary
RefrigerantSide® Services increase operating efficiency and energy
savings, and remove moisture, oils and other contaminants frequently
found in the refrigeration circuits of large comfort cooling and
process refrigeration systems. Performed at a customer’s site as an
integral part of an effective scheduled maintenance program or in
response to emergencies, RefrigerantSide® Services offer significant
savings to customers due to their ability to be completed rapidly
and at higher purity levels, and can be utilized while the
customer’s system continues to operate. In addition, the Company
sells refrigerants and provides traditional reclamation services to
the commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration
markets. For further information on Hudson, please visit the
