HUDSON TECHNOLOGIES
ENGAGES COLTRIN & ASSOCIATES
FOR STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS EFFORTS
Coltrin to Execute Education Efforts Around Predictive and
Preventative Maintenance
in the Large Comfort and Process Cooling Industry
Pearl River,
New York – October 27, 2005 --
Hudson Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: HDSN), a leading refrigerant
services company specializing in proprietary on-site decontamination
services for large comfort and process cooling systems, today
announced it has hired the New York-based strategic communications
firm of Coltrin & Associates to execute investor, industry,
corporate and product public relations initiatives.
“The cooling industry is still overwhelmingly a reactive industry,
meaning that the vast majority of large comfort and process cooling
systems receive attention only when these systems fail,” said Kevin
Zugibe, CEO of Hudson Technologies. “By focusing primarily on
reactive maintenance, the industry has overlooked the significant
energy savings and efficiency gains, as well as the reduced life
cycle costs, that predictive and preventative maintenance can
achieve.
“Based upon U.S. Department of Energy information, large comfort and
process cooling systems incur approximately $35 billion annually in
energy costs, which costs could be reduced by as much as 29%, or
$10.1 billion, through efforts to maximize energy efficiency.
Hudson believes that its predictive and preventative maintenance
services could help customers achieve increased energy efficiency
and thereby capture a portion of the $10.1 billion in potential
energy cost savings that the DOE has projected. With rising energy
costs and warming temperatures, the industry is primed to consider a
sea change in how large cooling systems are maintained.
Consequently, we believe the timing is right for Hudson to educate
our potential customers, through both the investor and trade media,
on the value of Hudson's services and the economic importance for
the industry to move from reactive to predictive and preventative
maintenance. We look forward to working with Coltrin which, because
of its experience and resources, is uniquely qualified to assist
Hudson in our ongoing education efforts.”
Hudson Technologies has developed ChillSMART™ predictive and
preventative maintenance services that evaluate the health of a
cooling system with in-depth analysis of the system’s chemical and
mechanical components. Through the use of proprietary computer
models and detailed engineering, Hudson provides system specific
recommendations to reduce energy costs, increase the system’s
efficiency and correct problems that if left untreated can lead to
system failure.
