Hudson Technologies, Inc., Begins
Service Depot Rollout in Houston, TexaS

Depot will offer Hudson’s Unique On-Site Services that Reduce Downtime and Improve Energy Efficiency of Large Cooling and Refrigeration  Systems; Hudson forms Alliance with Johnson Supply Company to Serve South Texas

PEARL RIVER, New York––Hudson Technologies, Inc., (NASDAQ: HDSN), a service provider to the comfort cooling and refrigeration industry, today announced the opening of a rapid-response depot in Houston, Texas that will offer the company's patented service, which improves energy efficiency and reduces downtime of large tonnage cooling systems.  The depot is the first opened under a nationwide rollout program announced by the company in November.

Hudson’s Texas depot has been formed through an alliance with Johnson Supply Company, a major distributor of heating and air conditioning equipment in Texas.  Hudson will deploy its patented service equipment and trained personnel from Johnson’s Houston-Stoney Brook location.  The depot will offer Hudson’s proprietary services to Johnson’s mechanical contractor, industrial and OEM service company customers in south Texas.

“The establishment of this location is an important milestone for the company,” said Kevin J. Zugibe, Hudson’s chairman and chief executive officer.  “We believe our depot program will allow us to aggressively develop strategic markets for our rapid response services.  We are planning the rollout of additional depots during 1999, targeting regions of the country that have a high percentage of large comfort and process cooling systems."

Hudson's Houston depot will be staffed with experienced technicians and equipped with rapid-recovery vehicles and the company's patented ZugiBeast™ refrigerant decontamination system.  The company's unique technology and specialty services are designed to remove impurities frequently found in the refrigeration circuits of large comfort cooling and process refrigeration systems that deteriorate performance, cause air conditioning system outages and interrupt production.  Hudson's system removes impurities rapidly and can operate as cooling systems continue to function, offering very significant savings to customers.  This breakthrough technology has reduced downtime by as much as 80 % when compared with conventional repair methods.

“The Hudson-Johnson alliance will focus on the chemical and process industries within the greater Houston area,” said Mike Kitchens, Johnson Supply’s vice president of marketing.  “This alliance will allow us to increase the scope of our services.”

Johnson Supply, established in 1953 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, is a wholesale distributor of heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment in addition to related parts supplies and services.  With 19 locations, Johnson Supply serves customers throughout south Texas.

Founded in 1991, Hudson Technologies, Inc., has developed proprietary technology that greatly reduces the downtime and costs associated with maintaining, operating and repairing large chiller and reciprocating systems for process and comfort cooling.
